Serve me up some home-cooked Mexican and you'll be my new favorite person. Freshly smashed guacamole, chunkily- cut-tomatoes, mildly seasoned salsa, and some perfectly warmed up refried beans all wrapped in a whole wheat shell with a little shredded lettuce, tomatoes and black beans and I'm in smitten.
Alto Cinco does my version of Mexican absolutely perfectly.
I will highly advise you right now that if you ever visit Syracuse, New York, and are looking for authentic Mexican food, Alto Cinco is a must-dine-at destination for you. I promise that you will leave far from disappointed or hungry. Rather, you'll be ready to place your order again for tomorrow!
I recommend you do just that and order your meal for tomorrow the day before (just kidding, I don't think you can do that), because the wait for a table or even for delivery/pickup can sometimes be over an hour. Yeah, it's a long time to wait for food when you are really hungry. Been there, done that. However, the wait is well worth it, I promise you.
Oh, and they specialize in vegan/vegetarian options so everyone in the family or friend group can find a suitable breakfast, lunch or dinner menu item!
I should share with you what I order!
So there's my recommendation of true Mexican food for you. If you ever make it to Syracuse and give Alto Cinco a shot, tweet me your favorite menu item!
Thanks Alto for being so great, and thank YOU for reading my blog :).
